CRIME & DECLINE Clerk slashed during armed robbery of Papa John’s Pizza on Great Mills Road

LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – Just one block from the new $6 million St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy restroom facility on Great Mills Road, Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that a white male entered the Papa John’s Pizza carryout and slashed a clerk in the commission of robbing the business.

Sheriff Tim Cameron with two deputies inspect a hobo camp next to the Lexington Park Library, which he later ordered to be removed. The camp was a staging area for bums working at muggings along Great Mills Road. THE CHESAPEAKE TODAY photo.

On January 25, 2022, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a white male armed with a knife and wearing a mask fled on foot. The Sheriff didn’t provide any photos or video that may exist and reported that a K-9 dog failed to find a track which could have led to an area behind the store and close to the Lexington Park Library where hobos and bums have camped out in the past. Sheriff Cameron led a foray of deputies into the hobo camp in the past and ordered it cleaned out, which was located directly behind the Papa Johns.
