Most of the commanders of the barracks, divisions, and bureaus of the Maryland State Police are rotated around every few years to give them the varied experiences to build a better team of law enforcement professionals. Not so for Forestville Barrack Commander Lt. George White.

In a lawsuit filed against the former Sheriff of Anne Arundel County, who provides investigative services for Compass Marketing, he claims that the investigation conducted by Sheriff Ronald Bateman for his former employer, Compass, resulted in him losing the cushy post he held in Annapolis for fourteen years.   

Sheriff Bateman became a household name across Maryland when his campaign signs “Bateman for Sheriff” were altered by a man who cut the ”E” out of the signs, making his campaign signs read BATMAN FOR SHERIFF.   

Lt. George White names the former and present superintendents of the Maryland State Police, Colonel William Pallozzi and Colonel Woodrow Jones, as witnesses he intends to call in his complaint and prosecutors and investigators who know about his allegations against Sheriff Bateman.

Lt. George White lists Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson as a witness as well. White was brought into the General Assembly by his patron, the late Senate President Mike Miller. White served as Miller’s driver for years and was handpicked to be in charge of legislative security by Miller. White also was paid by Miller’s campaign as an election campaign staffer while he worked as a state trooper.

Lt. White asserts in the interrogatories, which he is required to respond to as the Plaintiff in the civil action alleging defamation filed in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, that Sheriff Bateman’s interviews with Maryland State Police officials, prosecutors, and others caused him to be transferred as the head of the Legislative Security Division of the Maryland General Assembly. The new position to what he called the most least desirable post in the State of Maryland – commander of the Forestville Barrack in Prince Georges County.

 Despite the derogatory terms applied to the post by the commander who is presently leading the men and women assigned there, the Forestville Barrack is one of the top producers of DUI arrests and investigates serious traffic crashes on one of the nation’s busiest interstate highways.

Lt. George White complains about his new duty assignment, the first time he has been assigned to lead a barrack. He also seeks sympathy for how others treated him when press accounts of allegations of his various activities have been reported in the media.

The suit alleges that the defendants conspired to steal trade secrets worth millions of dollars. Further, the complaint alleges Lt. George White attempted to extort up to $300,000 from Compass to return various technical equipment, passwords, and access to company technology. George White was employed at Compass as the director of information technology.

“After Defendant’s allegations, Plaintiff (Lt. White) was transferred from a valued assignment of 14 years. Co-workers at the Maryland General Assembly began avoiding Plaintiff and behaved awkwardly toward him after Defendant’s allegations. After the allegations were published in the press, Plaintiff’s life has been completely different. Everyone in Plaintiff’s life behaves more awkwardly than they did prior to Bateman’s false allegations.”

White answers how and why he has been damaged with this explanation:

“The nature of the allegations in this case are per se damaging, as Defendant falsely accused Plaintiff of being a criminal. Also, Plaintiff has lost opportunities and was transferred directly because of Defendant’s defamation. Plaintiff’s non-damages include emotional distress, loss of reputation, loss of standing in the community, personal humiliation, shame, and disgrace.” 

In the request for supporting evidence filed in the answers to the interrogatories, White defined what he meant by the term community as those who had been influenced by Sheriff Bateman’s investigation and the news of a civil suit filed by Compass Marketing against him, Maryland Judge Michael White, St. Mary’s Deputy States Attorney Daniel White, former University of Maryland Medical Systems Board Chairman James C. “Chip” DiPaula, Patrick Miller, and Ascential UK.  

“The community consists of Plaintiff’s family members, all of his co-workers at the Maryland General Assembly and the Maryland State Police, those who heard the allegations in the Office of the Attorney General and the Anne Arundel State’s Attorney office, all of southern Maryland to whom the false allegations were published in the press, all Compass employees, and all clients of Compass Marketing.”

DID LT. WHITE JUST CALL FORESTVILLE THE ARMPIT OF MARYLAND? SAYS HE WAS “HUMILIATED” TO BE ASSIGNED TO PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY, LEAVING HIM SAD

George White was asked this question:
Identify describe in detail the mental anguish and personal humiliation you suffered as referenced in Paragraph 12 of the Complaint.

“Plaintiff was transferred to the least requested destination in the Maryland State Police after a successful 14 years in a much better position, which was a professional humiliation. Plaintiff had to endure a 9-month investigation by his own agency and others that resulted in him being treated differently by members of the Maryland State Police, Maryland General Assembly, Compass employees and clients, and members of the Southern Maryland community. This resulted in feelings of anxiety, stress, and depression.”

RESPONSE OF GEORGE WHITE

WHITE HAS NO PERSONAL PRIDE IN THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE OR TROOPERS WHO WORK FOR HIM

This Lieutenant is a walking disgrace to all law enforcement officers for his physical appearance alone.   He is grossly overweight – a fat slob – an embarrassment to every Trooper and Commander of the Maryland State Police for his slovenly appearance!  Obviously, he has little to no personal pride in the State Police nor the Troopers assigned to the Forestville Barracks, or he would be a walking role model for them to emulate.   On top of that, he denigrates those very Troopers when describes his Barracks as the worst Post in the Maryland State Police.    A true leader who felt that way would have turned his Barracks and their Troopers into one of the best posts in the state whose Troopers would be noted for their sharp uniform appearance through their Commander’s personal example.    Instead, he looks like a used parachute that has not been properly repacked by simply stuffed into a garbage bag! –
