DWI AND ASSAULT CHARGES FOR KATIE MADISON; NOT HER FIRST RODEO

LEONARDTOWN, MD – The Maryland State Police report that Katie Madison was arrested on October 4, 2022, for DWI, and in the process, she allegedly assaulted the arresting trooper by kicking him, earning her a night in the slammer. Madison will soon see a District Court Judge to determine if she should be released from the St. Mary’s County Jail, where she is currently in residence.

Court records show she was ordered by Charles County Circuit Court Judge Makeba Gibbs to stay away from Brandon Blitch in a court hearing on September 19, 2022, in Charles County.  The protective order was filed to protect Blitch in a case of domestic violence, with records showing that Madison is the person told to leave him alone at home, work, or anywhere.  Madison was charged by Charles County Patrol Officer Chad Irwin with violating the peace order prohibiting her from any contact with the victim on September 27, 2022, and must appear in Charles County District Court on October 20, 2022.  Madison was released from the Charles County Jail on September 28, 2022, on an unsecured bond. The taxpayers of Maryland are on the hook to provide her with a free attorney in this case, according to court documents.

Katie Lee Madison (DOB 11/02/1985) of 26656 N. Sandgates Road, Mechanicsville, Md, faces traffic, DWI, and assault charges for kicking Maryland State Trooper J. Engleman when appearing in District Court for St. Mary’s on November 22, 2022.  Madison was not far from home when she was stopped on Rt. 235 at Friendship School Road at 8:43 am while operating a 2002 Dodge.

Madison gets around in Southern Maryland, adding Calvert County to her travels when on July 23, 2022, she was charged with malicious destruction of Maryland State Police property. Madison entered a guilty plea on August 22, 2022, and was sentenced to the Calvert County Jail for 60 days with all but 26 days suspended.  She was put on probation for three years which might kick in the balance of her unserved sentence.  Madison was ordered to pay the Maryland State Police $670.25 for the damage caused by her temper tantrum.  The taxpayers won’t be paid back for supplying her with a free attorney.

Madison entered a guilty plea to DWI in Calvert County District Court on September 25, 2013, following her arrest by Calvert County Sheriff’s Department Deputy L. Wood on July 4, 2013. In a plea deal with Calvert County States Attorney Laura Martin, Madison was given a verdict of Probation Before Judgement with twenty days in jail and all of the jail time suspended; a fine of $192.50 was assessed against her.  The taxpayers of Maryland provided her with a free attorney.

Madison doesn’t stick to just booze as she entered a guilty plea on September 13, 2011, to possession of drugs other than pot and was sentenced in a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz to two years in jail with all of the jail time suspended and a verdict of Probation Before Judgement.  In that case, she obtained the services of criminal defense attorney Joseph Vallario III.
