MURDER USA District Police Charged Antoine Lynch with the homicide of Devonte Maxwell.

BANANA REPUBLIC OF DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA – With the lineup of murders in the District of Columbia now soaring over one hundred at this point in the calendar year for the first time in twenty years, the politicians in the Nation’s Capital City can be proud that their efforts to defund the police and increase crime are working like a charm. Despite a Gun Registry Order filed in 2013, the accused killer in a Southeast murder still possessed a gun in a shocking discard for the gun laws enacted by D.C. City Council.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced on June 6, 2023, that an arrest had been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.

At approximately 7:59 pm, Sixth District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male shooting victim. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old Devonte Maxwell of Northwest, DC.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 37-year-old Antoine Christopher Lynch (DOB 3/30/1986) of 2214 Nicholson Street, Southeast DC. Lynch has been charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed by Senior Detective Alfred Thomas Austin-Braxton in a warrant filed on May 25, 2023, according to Superior Court records.

Lynch is represented by attorney Howard McEachern in a hearing on June 7, 2023, before Judge Robert D. Okun.

Lynch entered a guilty plea to second-degree cruelty to a child in a domestic violence case filed on December 12, 2017.

Sentence for Charge # 1, Attempted Second-Degree Cruelty to Children

Sentence Date: 04/03/2018

Confinement Type:  Confinement for 180 days in the DC Jail and probation for one year.

Sentencing Comments: COMPLY WITH ALL FAMILY COURT ORDERS. CONTINUE WITH MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT. STAY AWAY FROM AND HAVE NO CONTACT WITH CW. NO PHYSICAL DISCIPLINE OF ANY MINOR CHILDREN

Judge Franklin A. Burgess Jr sentenced Lynch to 18 months in jail for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon on November 7, 2013. Lynch was also ordered to attend anger management courses.

Lynch entered a guilty plea in a plea deal with Montgomery County States Attorney Doug Gansler and in court before Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Paul Weinstein on June 23, 2006, to possession of drugs other than marijuana and was sentenced to the Montgomery County Jail for 90 days.
