KILLING to Celebrate Juneteenth in Baltimore City leaves Morgue packed with bodies

MURDER #128 for 2023 in Baltimore City

BALTIMORE, MD. The City of Baltimore joined with large cities across the nation to link together their crime, criminals and compare murder rates. Baltimore Police report that on June 19, 2023, at approximately 3:04 a.m., Northwest District patrol officers were called to the 3700 block of Rosedale Street, for a report of an assault in progress.

Once there, officers located an adult male inside of a residence, who appeared to be unresponsive. Officers conducted a forced entry in an attempt to render aid to the victim who was pronounced dead on the scene.

On June 18, 2023, at approximately 9:14 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers responded to the 2300 block of Montebello Terrace, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 52-year-old female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2100 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.

On June 16, 2023, at approximately 8:47 p.m., officers were conducting a car stop near the area of the 4600 block York Road when they heard discharging.

Officers canvassed the area and discovered three male victims near the intersection of East Cold Spring Lane and York Road, all suffering from numerous non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their bodies.

Medics transported the three victims on the scene to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Officers were then notified that three additional victims had walked into area hospitals suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The victim’s ages and genders are as follows:
A 17-year-old male, two 22-year-old males, a 26-year-old male, an 18-year-old male and a 32-year-old female.

Northern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

MURDER #126 for 2023 – Anthony Cox

Southwest District Homicide Investigation (In a Group Violence Reduction Zone!)

On June 15, 2023, at approximately 10:24 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of McPhail Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by a 45-year-old male who stated that two unidentified males shot at him in the 100 block of McPhail Street. The 45-year-old male was uninjured during this incident.

As officers continued to canvas the area, they observed an unresponsive unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Northern District Shooting Investigation

On June 15, 2023, at approximately 9:16 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Virginia Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 31-year-old male suffering from numerous non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his arm. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

Northern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Northern District Shooting Investigation/Hospital Walk-In

On June 15, 2023, at approximately 12:11 p.m., officers responded to the 2600 block of Greenmount Avenue for reports of a discharging. While they were on scene, they were dispatched to an area hospital for a call for a walk-in shooting victim.

Officers observed a 32-year-old male victim suffering from what appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the stomach.

Following further investigation, officers believe a suspect and a victim were engaged in a verbal exchange in the area of the above address when the suspect allegedly shot the victim.

Northern District Shooting Investigation

On June 15, 2023, at approximately 2:17 a.m., Northern District officers responded to the 3400 block of Old York Road to Investigate discharging.

Once at the location, Officers did an area canvas and found evidence of discharging of a firearm.

Sometime later, officers were called to an area hospital for a walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to the right shoulder. Officers responded to the hospital and located a 29-year-old male victim being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the 3400 block of Old York Road when two unidentified male suspects approached and shot the victim. The victim transported himself to the hospital.

Northwest District Attempted Murder Arrest
Wesley-Vanhook-charged-with-murder-on-June-13-2023
 
On June 13, 2023, at approximately 7 a.m., members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force and Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 43-year-old Wesley Vanhook of Baltimore in the 2400 block of Oswego Avenue.
Detectives believe Vanhook shot a 55-year-old male in the 3700 block of Towanda Avenue on April 22, 2023.
Detectives transported Vanhook to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder and various handgun violations.

On April 22, 2023, at approximately 10:03 a.m., Northern District officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Shirley Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.
Once officers arrived, they located a 55-year-old male victim sitting in a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the face. The victim was transported to an area hospital by a medic with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot in the 3700 block of Towanda Avenue.

Southwest District Shooting Investigation

On June 13, 2023, at approximately 11:11 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Poplar Grove Street, in reference to a Shot Spotter alert.

Once there, officers were advised of a possible armed person inside an apartment in that block.

After a brief barricade, a 23-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Officers located a 57-year-old male at the location, suffering from an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The 24-year-old male suspect was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged.

Eastern District Homicide Investigation

On June 13, 2023, at approximately 9:29 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of North Chapel Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers observed an unresponsive unidentified male suffering from numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on the scene, and despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Central District Shooting Investigation

On June 11, 2023, at approximately 6:16 p.m., Central District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a gunshot victim seeking treatment.

Once at the hospital, officers located an unidentified male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the right thigh. The victim is listed in stable condition.

The victim refused to give officers his name or the incident location.

Southern District Shooting Investigation 

On June 11, 2023, at approximately 5:53 p.m., Central District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a gunshot victim seeking treatment.

Once at the hospital, officers located a 27-year-old- male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left forearm. The victim is listed in stable condition.  

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the area of Westport Avenue and Annapolis Road when he felt pain and realized he had been shot. The victim then transported himself to the hospital.

Southern District Homicide Investigation

On June 11, 2023, at approximately 11:22 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 1600 block of Plum Street for a reported shooting investigation.

Once at the location, officers located a 40-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and head. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Southeast District Shooting Investigation

On June 11, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Southeast District patrol officers responded to the 1600 block of Bank Street to Investigate a reported shooting.

Once at the location, officers located a 21-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.  The victim was transported to an area hospital by a medic listed in stable condition.  

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the 400 block of South Broadway when an unidentified person discharged a firearm.
Striking the victim, the victim then ran to Bank Street, where he collapsed.
