DISTRICT COUNCILMAN WANTS THE NATIONAL GUARD TO BE CALLED OUT TO STOP MURDERS
Pair arrested in Homicide of Brian Buxton.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce arrests have been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in the 100 block of Irvington Street, Southwest.
At approximately 4:52 pm, an off-duty MPD officer was flagged down at the listed location in reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival, the off-duty officer located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where they were treated for life-threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 20-year-old Brian Buxton of Fort Washington, MD.
On Friday, August 4, 2023, members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, pursuant to booking orders, transported 19-year-old Aaron Walker of Southeast, DC and 19-year-old Dasani Dawson of Northwest, DC to the Homicide Branch. Pursuant to arrest warrants, both were charged with First-Degree Murder While Armed.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, August 5, 2023, in the 1600 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast.
At approximately 8:22 pm, Sixth and Seventh District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located four adult male shooting victims and one adult female shooting victim. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that two of the adult male victims and the adult female victim had no signs consistent with life.

The victims remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The two remaining adult male victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The decedents have been identified as 27-year-old Tymea Cook of Southeast, DC, 35-year-old Bernard Hodges of Northeast, DC, and 34-year-old Reginald Gilbert of no fixed address.The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia, bringing the total possible reward amount in this case up to $75,000. Two killed in shooting on Ontario Road, NW
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The District mayhem for a weekend of bloodletting got off to a good start with this report: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, August 5, 2023, in the 2500 Block of Ontario Road, Northwest.
At approximately 1:01 am, Third District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located three adult male shooting victims. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found two of the victims had no signs consistent with life.
The police curiously reported that the victims, who were dead as doornails, “…remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.” The remaining victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
On Monday, August 7, 2023, the third victim, Vincent Martin, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced.
The decedents have been identified as 34-year-old James Morgan, 30-year-old Jamal Morgan, and 42-year-old Vincent Martin, all of Southeast DC.

At approximately 3:46 pm, Seventh District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two adult male shooting victims. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that one of the victims had no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The remaining victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 32-year-old Kevin James of Southeast, DC.
