A 19-year-old Stafford man is facing a murder charge as a result of his 3-month-old’s death.

Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur reports that on October 27, 2023, at approximately 12:25 p.m., Deputies responded to Richland Road for a medical emergency. When deputies arrived on the scene, they located an unresponsive 3-month-old boy. Deputies attempted to conduct life-saving measures until Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene. The child was transported to a nearby hospital where, unfortunately, he passed.

George Hill was Charged with DUI with Two Children on Board, Entered a guilty plea to speeding at 112 mph in a 55 mph zone in 2015, and was sent to the slammer for ten days.

The Stafford County Sheriff reports that a 31-year-old Stafford man nearly crashed his vehicle with his children inside after drinking too much at a Halloween party.

On October 28, 2023, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Deputies J.E. Cordes and C.C. Lee responded to the intersection of Butler Road and Chatham Heights Road for a report of a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle would suddenly stop in one of the travel lanes, and a female passenger was attempting to get the driver out of the vehicle.

When deputies arrived, they located the passenger still attempting to pull the unresponsive driver out of the vehicle while two children were in the backseat. When the driver, George Hill, woke up, he had clear signs of being intoxicated. He advised he drank “a lot of mixed drinks” during a Halloween party. After field sobriety tests, Hill was quickly placed in handcuffs.

He was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .2 with children present and two counts of child neglect. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $8,000 secured bond. The female passenger was determined to be sober and was allowed to drive the children away from the scene.

Drunk or Treat:

Drunk or treat, smell vodka, get a free ride to Regional Jail. A 48-year-old Stafford woman was caught driving drunk instead of handing out candy.

On October 31st at approximately 6:00 p.m., many trick-or-treaters were out and about. Meanwhile, Sergeant R.S. Dominguez and Deputy D. Austen were responding to Choptank Road for a report of a drunk driver. The caller advised a Tesla was tailgating her, weaving in and out of traffic, crossing the double yellow line, and running a stop sign. Deputies were able to locate the reckless vehicle amidst the sea of ghouls and goblins and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver originally denied consuming alcohol before driving. She would later admit to consuming beverages of the alcoholic variety after deputies noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath and the open bottle of vodka within the vehicle. After conducting field sobriety tests, she received handcuffs instead of a trick or a treat.

The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .2, drinking while driving, failure to maintain the lane of travel, and failure to obey a stop sign. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond.

The only thing scarier than monsters, is driving drunk. Drive sober or get pulled over.
