Hunter Lee Kirby Convicted of
Distribution of Child Pornography
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Maryland State Police report the harvesting of yet another in a long line of Calvert County men, who over the last few years have been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
State Police say that Troopers arrested a Calvert County man on Thursday, August 17, 2023, after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Investigation developed evidence of possession of child pornography.
The suspect is Hunter Lee Kirby, 26 (DOB 6/24/1997) of 1825 Kingswood Drive, Prince Frederick, Maryland. Kirby is charged by Maryland State Police Detective K. Stull with five counts of possession of child pornography and three counts of distribution of child pornography, according to Maryland Court records.
Kirby was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond by order of a District Court Commissioner on August 17, 2023. District Court Judge Michelle Saunders ordered Kirby to be held without bond until a preliminary hearing on September 15, 2023.
Thomas J. Maronick Jr. of Glen Burnie filed an appearance for Kirby to be his attorney and immediately made motions to suppress evidence, dismiss, and exclude evidence. The court records show that Kirby is eligible for a public defender. Kirby lives with relatives in a home near Prince Frederick.
Beginning in July 2023, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into the possession of child pornography online. At about 8:20 a.m. on August 17, 2023, Maryland State Police, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, served a search warrant at the identified residence of the suspect. Kirby was arrested about an hour later at a nearby location. A preliminary forensic review of the suspect’s electronic devices revealed multiple child pornography files.
The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit coordinates the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This is a combined law enforcement effort involving police departments across Maryland that is made possible in part due to grant funds provided by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services and by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. Task force investigators focus on identifying those involved in child pornography via the Internet and other related crimes that victimize children.
Recent arrests for child pornography distribution of Calvert County residents include that of a U.S. Capital Police Officer.
Kirby Sentenced for Child Pornography
PRINCE FREDERICK, MD – According to Calvert County States Attorney Bob Harvey, Hunter Lee Kirby, 27, of Prince Frederick, was sentenced on July 26, 2024, to 35 years in prison, with 10 years of active time, for distribution of child pornography and sex abuse of a minor.
Judge Andrew S. Rappaport of the Calvert County Circuit Court imposed the sentence.
In July 2023, the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip that Kirby (DOB 06/24/1997), of 1825 Kingswood Drive, Prince Frederick, Md., was accessing and sharing child pornography on his electronic devices.
The court issued a search warrant that led to the seizure of these devices. Multiple images of child pornography were identified, and Kirby was arrested following a Calvert Count Circuit Court Criminal Indictment issued on September 18, 2023. Harvey said in a statement that further investigation revealed that Kirby had unlawfully touched a minor female.
Upon his release from prison, Kirby will be on five years of supervised probation. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.
This case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Rebecca N. Cordero. Allison Marie O’Connell and Autumn James of the Public Defender’s Office provided free representation for Kirby, paid for by the Taxpayers of Maryland.
Maryland State Police Arrest Rafee Al-Mansur for Sexual Solicitation of A Minor.
WALDORF, MD – Maryland State Police report that Troopers arrested a man on August 14, 2024, after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence of online sexual solicitation of a minor, and an arrest warrant was signed by Judge James Parker on August 13, 2024.
The suspect is Rafee Al-Mansur, 33 (DOB 06/14/1991), of 6147 Sea Lion Place, Waldorf, Maryland. Al-Mansur is charged by Maryland State Police Criminal Investigator Z. Crowe with two counts of sexual solicitation of a minor. He was transported to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
Beginning in April 2024, members of the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force developed evidence of sexual solicitation of a minor in an online chat. An investigation led to the identification of a suspect, who believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl in an online chat.
Al-Mansur was brought before District Court Judge Kemp Hammond for a bail bond review on August 15, 2024, and ordered to be held in Anne Arundel Jail pending a court hearing. Glen Burnie attorney Peter Sean O’Neill signed up on the court records as Al-Mansur’s attorney.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Charles County. Al-Mansur was arrested at the scene.

Kenneth J. Schneider Busted by Maryland State Police for Distribution of Child Pornography
(PASADENA, MD) – Maryland State Police arrested a man on Aug. 9, 2024, after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence of child pornography.
The suspect is Kenneth J. Schneider, 34, of Chestnut Hill Cove, Maryland. Schneider is charged with soliciting, promoting/distributing child pornography, both felonies and a misdemeanor, displaying obscene material to a minor. He is being held without bond at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
In June, special agents from Homeland Security Investigations initiated an investigation into child pornography after receiving a report that a minor had attempted suicide from being sexually extorted. On Aug. 9, 2024, members of the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, and Anne Arundel County Police served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. Schneider was arrested at the scene.
Maryland State Police Booked Jonathan M. Schultheis on Child Pornography Distribution Charges
RISING SUN, MD – Maryland State Police report that on July 23, 2024, Troopers arrested a man after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence of distribution of child pornography.
The suspect is Jonathon M. Schultheis, 27, of Rising Sun, Maryland. Schultheis is charged with five counts of distribution of child pornography. Schultheis was transported to the Cecil County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
Beginning in March 2024, the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force initiated an investigation into the distribution of child pornography online. This morning, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, served a search warrant at the identified residence of the suspect. Schultheis was arrested at the scene.
