TEACHERS UNION CARES ABOUT “IDENTITY” AND “DIVERSITY” NOT ABOUT READING, WRITING AND MATH

The news broke in Maryland Matters today that the Maryland Democratic Party will spend “tens of thousands of dollars” targeting schoolboard races this election does not surprise me.

Several current school board members informed me that the Board of Education elections were intended to be nonpartisan. However, that is not the case.
It should come as no surprise that the Maryland Democratic Party is attempting to discredit these school board candidates by labeling them as “hateful” and claiming they have a “right-wing agenda.” Just look at the hit list they put out on their website.

In typical Democratic fashion, the Maryland Democratic Party is resorting to sneaky tactics and blatant hypocrisy in their attempts to win school board elections. These so-called “nonpartisan” races have now become battlegrounds for political agendas, with the Democrats deeming any opposition as hateful or right-wing. But let’s not be fooled – this is just another attempt by the left to maintain a stranglehold on our education system.
Kudos to those who made it onto the party’s hit list, like St. Mary’s School Board candidate Elena Brewer and three Calvert County candidates. Your bravery in standing up against the leftist indoctrination of our children deserves recognition and support. You all have my full support.
Meanwhile, as the Maryland Teacher’s Union hosts its fall conference, its workshop curriculum focuses more on pushing social justice indoctrination rather than improving academic skills. But who cares about reading, writing, and math when we can teach kids about “identity” and “diversity,” right?

Interestingly, while there are few workshops focused on enhancing skills in reading, writing, and math, there are courses available on incorporating social justice into classroom curricula.
Other riveting workshops offered by MSEA include:
Embedding Social Justice Practices in Teacher Preparation Programs
By grounding coursework in The Critical Practices for Social Justice Education, educators can elevate diverse perspectives to support students in developing their understanding and acceptance of self and others. The key practices are centered on four pillars which include Curriculum and Instruction, Culture and Climate, Leadership, and Community Engagement.
Beyond the Pages: Sparking Social Justice Conversations with Children’s Literature
Explore social justice through children’s literature! In this session, teachers will learn about the Social Justice framework and how to use engaging books to spark student conversations about identity, diversity, justice, and action.
Restorative Practices in the Elementary Classroom
How to strengthen our community? Learn restorative practice for the elementary classroom, exploring the ideology behind being a restorative practitioner and learning ways to implement restorative practices in the elementary classroom community.
Word Power: Vocabulary Strategies for Engaged Citizenship
This dynamic workshop explores integrating vocabulary acquisition and civic learning to enhance student understanding of civic knowledge, skills, values, and dispositions. We’ll discuss using explicit vocabulary instruction, engaging texts, differentiated teaching, and technology to empower diverse students to transition from passive learners to active, informed citizens.
It’s time to ask ourselves who should be in control of our children’s education: those pushing a political agenda or parents who want an unbiased learning environment for their children?
We must end this madness and make the well-being and education of our youth our highest priority.
Let’s continue advocating for change in local school board elections. Our children deserve the opportunity to learn and grow without being manipulated as pawns. Let’s not allow political agendas to dictate their future—stand up, speak out, and make a difference. Together, we can create a meaningful impact on our children’s future. Let’s push forward with courage and conviction, allowing kids to simply be kids once more.
Tonight
Last Saturday’s sign giveaway was a great success, and we’re excited to do it again this Friday evening! This time, we’ll be in Leonardtown, at the square across from The Rex, from 5-7 PM. If you’re ready to pledge your support for President Trump and would like to display a Trump/Vance yard sign, be sure to get one while supplies last. We look forward to seeing you Friday evening across from The Rex. ~Matt
