I traveled to Frederick County yesterday to support my friend and former state delegate, Neil Parrott (R), in his congressional campaign. This race has national significance and could influence which party controls the U.S. House. It would have been remarkable for Maryland to gain another Republican representative; however, after 320,650 votes were cast, it looks like Neil fell short by just -315 votes. Neil embodies true conservative values, and I am grateful to him for stepping up to run. Every vote truly matters!

Project 1776 had mixed results in School Board Races, winning 3 in Calvert County, losing 3 in St. Mary’s County, and winning 2 seats in Talbot County for conservative candidates. Josh Guy is a big winner in
St. Mary’s County. Josh Guy is twenty-two years old and issued a stunning defeat to Brandie Edelen with a masterful political campaign not seen in St. Mary’s County since Republican Chris Brugman won the election for St. Mary’s County Commissioner in 1994 by battering Planning Commissioner Joe Anderson by 3,000 votes. Guy was able to extract campaign funds from liberal democrats such as former Democratic Central Committee Member John Weiner and Democratic Party fat-cat Mike Whitson and harness the campaigning services at early voting centers from former Congressman and State Senator Roy P. Dyson.

I am passionate about children and education. I believe that children rise (and fall) to meet the level of expectations set for them. I’d like to see a greater focus on academics, discipline in the classroom and all around character at TCPS. Support of our teachers in all three of these areas is crucial if we want to see improvement in our statewide and national rankings. Our children are worth the fight, and they are worth the effort. Now, let’s RAISE Talbot County Schools to a level unbeaten in Maryland.
Teachers, parents, students, community—I will work hard for you!
