The cartoons below were published in the ST. MARY’S TODAY as a criticism of the St. Mary’s County Commissioners spending tax dollars to rebuild the slave quarters at Sotterley, effectively failing to give descendants of those who were slaves at Sotterley any choice as to having their money rebuild the place where their families were forced to give up their labor to enrich the owners of the plantation.
