Cops: GRANDMA KILLED BY GRANDSON SPENCER HAMILTON

GRANDSON SAID HE LAID IN WAIT IN GRANDMA’S CLOSET AND THEN STABBED HER TO DEATH

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 27-year-old Spencer Dillon Hamilton of Potomac with the murder of his grandmother, 87-year-old Pauline Yvonne Titus-Dillon of Potomac. A Montgomery County Judge has ordered him held pending an evaluation for mental health.

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at approximately 8:08 a.m., officers from the 1st District and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 12600 block of Tribunal Lane after Hamilton walked into the Rockville City Police Station and reported killing a family member.

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at approximately 8:08 a.m., officers from the 1st District and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 12600 block of Tribunal Lane after Hamilton walked into the Rockville City Police Station and reported killing a family member.

 

According to investigators, Hamilton admitted to waiting in his grandmother’s bedroom closet and attacking her after she exited the bathroom around 4 a.m. According to court documents, he stabbed her in the back and head, strangled her and struck her multiple times in the face and head. He then moved her body to the bathroom and attempted to clean the scene before fleeing with her credit card, cell phone and laptop.

Hamilton was taken into custody with the weapon allegedly used in the attack, officials said.

Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and identified Hamilton as the suspect.

The decedent has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy is scheduled for Monday, March 31, to officially determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives arrested Hamilton at the Rockville City Police Station and charged him with first-degree murder.

He was transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he was ordered held without bond at a bond hearing.
