ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES
To The Editor:
Having been a former Republican County Commissioner, I know the importance of supporting and electing true conservative candidates to oversee and protect the future of our county. Often, candidates proclaim to be Republican and conservative, yet after being elected, their voting record proves that they are anything but conservative. We call these individuals Rhinos (Republicans in name only). We have had our share of these county commissioners over the years, and this needs to end with the next election.
This past session in Annapolis, the Democrats, with their liberal agenda, passed legislation that will negatively affect our county and be felt by every citizen and local business. It is more important than ever that we elect future candidates in our county who are fiscally responsible and will not fall prey to all of the “I want, and I need” requests or approve wasteful spending on projects that are not needed in our county. As it stands right now, our county will probably never experience the full effect of Trump’s legislation lowering gas, food prices, and the general cost of living in our county because of the legislation passed in Annapolis that has added taxes to these items to cover the cost of their budget.
I have been discussing the importance of this next election with some of my fiscally conservative friends, and we have decided to seek out and find trusted Republican fiscal conservative candidates to fill the upcoming vacant seats of the County Commissioners. If you are interested in running for one of the seats, contact me at dmorris.republican@gmail.com. Our group will request an interview to determine if you share our concerns and are tired of voting for candidates who do not vote favorably for our fiscal conservative beliefs. If so, we will openly support you during the next election period. Remember, we are looking for a “few good Republicans.” Could that be you?
