SOLOMON’S ISLAND, MD – A woman fell victim to a bum hanging out near the Calvert Library branch in Solomon’s who stabbed her twice and then fled to a nearby gas station. The bum, who may be a resident of a nearby hobo camp and also has an address of 6355 Mackall Road in Saint Leonard, Maryland, has left a remarkable journey in crime in Calvert and St. Mary’s counties that includes assault and robbery – along with stints in prison.
Calvert Sheriff Ricky Cox reports that Deputy Sheriff T. Buckler arrested Eugene Terrell Harris on August 4, 2025, and charged him with first and second-degree murder and first and second-degree assault. Harris was held in the Calvert County Jail without bond. Court records show a bond review was set for August 6, 2025, and a preliminary hearing for Sept. 3, 2025.
HANCE SAID BRUTAL STABBING JUST A PART OF LIFE
At the Calvert County Commissioners’ regular business meeting on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Calvert County Commissioner President Earl F. “Buddy” Hance began the meeting with a statement about hearing much of the concern in the community about the safety of the public library at Solomons. Hance said the Sheriff quickly apprehended the deranged attacker, and the victim, who was stabbed just before noon, and her service dog, who was accompanying her, are expected to make a full recovery. Hance said that such attacks are rare, but in this current state of affairs, they can happen anytime and anywhere.
WHY WAS THIS DIRTBAG OUT OF JAIL?
TESTY EXCHANGE BETWEEN COURT OFFICERS INTENT ON BUILDING RESPECT FOR THE JUDICIARY AS JURY FOUND HARRIS NOT GUILTY
St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Warren Forinash charged Harris on Nov. 11, 2024, in a statement of charges in St. Mary’s District Court. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested Eugene Terrill Harris, 32, in connection with a shooting that occurred on November 9, 2024, in Lexington Park that involved a 36-year-old man who walked into the Lexington Park Rescue Squad and reported being shot.
Detectives from the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigations Division arrested Harris without incident at approximately 3:02 p.m. at a residence in the 46000 block of Valley Court in Lexington Park.

- reckless endangerment

- loaded handgun on person

Court records show that District Court Judge Christy Holt Chesser ordered Harris held in the St. Mary’s County Jail without bond on Nov. 22, 2024. On December 16, 2024, the case was forwarded to Circuit Court for trial, and on January 17 and January 23, 2025, court records show that undeliverable mail was returned to the court. The Court records do not show who the intended recipient was; perhaps it was the defendant, since the Post Office knows where to find State’s Attorney Sterling.
Harris was found not guilty in a two-day trial in May of 2025, when represented by criminal defense attorney Yladrea Drummond. An angry faceoff took place in the circuit court when Assistant State’s Attorney Michael McGraw, according to published reports, said that Drummond should go back to law school, as he took “distasteful shots at the defense.”
Drummond was quoted in the Baynet, an online press release bulletin board, as saying: “This trial wasn’t about the attorneys,” said Drummond. “This was about justice. I will never lose sight of that when fighting for my client’s interests, rights, and their freedom.”
Assistant State’s Attorney Mike McGraw won an important conviction of a dangerous criminal who killed a woman in 2023.
St. Mary’s State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling announced on March 24, 2025, that Anthony Michael Carlucci, 50, of Waldorf, Maryland, has been convicted of manslaughter by vehicle in connection with a high-speed crash that claimed the life of another following a plea deal arranged with the killer admitting to guilt in the case. In May 2023, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving two overturned vehicles near Mount Zion Church Road in Oakville. Deputies discovered a three-vehicle crash where one victim sustained minor injuries, and another was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An extensive investigation revealed that Carlucci attempted to pass multiple vehicles by driving on the shoulder and struck the victim’s vehicle, causing it to overturn. Excessive speed was determined to be a significant factor.

TEN YEARS IN PRISON WAS THE SENTENCE, BUT IN THE ALICE IN WONDERLAND MARYLAND JUDICIARY, HE WAS LIKELY GIVEN A NEW CAR AND A WEEK IN THE HILTON
In a plea deal with the Master of All Plea Deals, St. Mary’s State’s Attorney Richard Fritz, and the lead prosecutor, the present St. Mary’s State’s Attorney Jaymi Kim Sterling, Harris saw several charges dropped. He was found guilty in St. Mary’s Circuit Court of two counts of second-degree assault, and on Sept. 20, 2018, was sentenced to ten years in prison by the late Circuit Court Judge Michael Stamm.
On July 9, 2008, the St. Mary’s County Circuit Court Grand Jury indicted Harris (DOB 02/10/1992) of 46863 Rogers Drive in Lexington Park, Maryland, on robbery charges. Harris was pinpointed and arrested by St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputies David Alexander, Michael Peacher, and Michael Worrey and taken to the luxury accommodations of the Hotel St. Mary’s. With St. Mary’s State’s Attorney Richard Fritz cutting a plea deal for Harris, Public Defender John Getz pleaded his client guilty, which he was, and in Circuit Court with the late Circuit Court Judge Mike Stamm presiding, Harris was sentenced on Feb. 26, 2010, to three and a half years in prison.
