DWI HIT PARADE: Montgomery County Police DWI arrests Jan. 3, 2020

CARLOS AUGUSTO ALHUAY VELARDE, 41, REPEAT DWI OFFENDER (DOB 04/15/1978) 8790 VICTORY CT., WALKERSVILLE, MD, arrested for DWI on Dec. 27, 2019, at 3:04 am by Montgomery County Police Officer John Romack as he operated a 2014 Hyundai southbound on Veirs Mill Road at Aspen Hill Road.

Alhuay Velarde was arrested on Aug. 8, 2016, by Maryland Trooper Reever as he operated a 2015 Toyota on Rt. 26 at Monocacy Blvd. in Frederick County, Md. In a plea deal with the Frederick County States Attorney on Dec. 1, 2016, Alhuay Velarde entered a guilty plea to DUI in Frederick District Court. THE DEAL: a jail sentence of 364 days in jail was suspended, a fine of $500 was assessed and $300 of the fine was suspended.  A bench warrant was issued for his arrest on Nov. 30, 2018, following a violation of probation. Following the newest DWI arrest, Alhuay Velarde posted a bond of $500 to be released from the Montgomery County Jail.

JESSE HOSEA TAYLOR, 27, (DOB 11/11/1992) of 801 Guilford Street, SILVER SPRING, MD., was arrested by Maryland Trooper T. Wallace for DWI on March 15, 2019, at 1:58 am as he operated a 2016 Lexus southbound on Rt. 29 south of Lockwood Drive.  Following his failure to appear in court, records reveal that his permit was suspended on Sept. 13, 2019. When the law caught up with Taylor on Christmas Eve, he posted bond in order to be released from jail.  A new trial date has been set for Feb. 24, 2020, in Rockville District Court.

MILTON ISRAEL GAMBOA-PEREZ, REPEAT DWI OFFENDER 32, (DOB 01/17/1987) of 8321 14th Ave. Apt 102, HYATTSVILLE, MD, was arrested by Montgomery County Police Officer Thomas Tibbs on Dec. 21, 2019 at 4:07 am for DWI and traffic charges associated with failing to remain or return to the scene of an accident. A court date has been set for Feb. 18, 2020. MILTON GAMBOA-PEREZ entered a guilty plea to DWI on July 16, 2015, in a plea deal with Montgomery County States Attorney John McCarthy and was given a verdict of Probation Before Judgement with no jail time and a fine of $1,000, of which $750 was suspended.

CAROLYN SUZANNE KAY GIERSCH, 49, (DOB 11/16/1970) of 13916 PARKLAND DRIVE, ROCKVILLE, MD, 12/17/2019, DWI, Giersch was arrested for DWI by Maryland State Trooper C. Silver on Feb. 7, 2019, at 8:05 pm.  Giersch failed to appear in court for trial on June 6, 2019, and was tracked down by police and brought to appear before a Judge on Dec. 18, 2019.

WILFREDO RAMOS BENITEZ, 32, 14200 Block Of Georgia Ave., SILVER SPRING, MD, 12/08/2019 DWI

MADIE KUMBA DUNYAKOR KAMINJAH, 22, (DOB 08/16/1997) of 11215 Oak Leaf Drive., SILVER SPRING, MD, was arrested by Montgomery County Police Officer L. Caldwell for DWI on Aug. 21, 2016, at 2:29 am as she operated a 2014 Chevy on Middlebrook Road at Waring Station Road. On March 7, 2017, Kaminjah entered a guilty plea to DWI in a plea deal with States Attorney McCarthy. THE DEAL: a sentence of 60 days in jail with 58 days suspended and a fine of fifty bucks. After the violation of the terms of the probation, a bench warrant was issued on Dec. 3, 2019, when she failed to appear in court for a hearing, resulting in her arrest on Jan. 3, 2020.
