Lawfare Practitioner Attorney General of New York Letitia James was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for obtaining a mortgage for a rental property by claiming it was for her second home
The property in Virginia was mortgaged at a favorable rate, according to a statement by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who swore that the property was for her own use. Instead, she rented the property to a family of three. The lower rate charged to James by the mortgage company resulted in a savings of nearly $18,000 over the life of the loan due to the more favorable interest rate.
