MECHANICSVILLE, MD – Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that killed one person and injured three others on Nov. 14, 2019, in St. Mary’s County, when a motorist who was observed shortly before the crash at a nearby Wawa as being “out of it”, crossed the centerline and hit a pickup which was northbound on Rt. 5. That driver is dead and scored plea bargains from prosecutors in three counties on prior DWI-drugged driving charges.
