MURDER USA: Ousmane Camara charged with brutal slaying of his mother
ROCKVILLE, MD. – Another case of an alleged murder of a mother by a son took place in Rockville, just a month after another wild-man sits in jail charged with the homicide of his mother at St. Raphael Church.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged Ousmane Camara, 26, of 13601 Marianna Drive in Rockville, Md., with the January 29th first-degree murder of his mother, 52-year-old Arabia Camara, of that same address.
Police say that on Jan. 28, 2019, at approximately 7:43 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center (911), received a call requesting to check the welfare of Arabia Camara after she had failed to show up for work.
4th District officers as well as personnel from the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services, responded to Arabia Camera’s home to check her welfare.
Responding officers received no answer when they knocked on Arabia Camera’s door. Officers located an open window to her home and made entry into her residence. Once inside, officers encountered Ousmane Camara inside the residence and observed blood and cuts on his hands. Officers further located Arabia Camara deceased inside the home with apparent trauma to her body.
Ousmane Camara was arrested and transported to a local hospital for treatment of the cuts on his hands. After being released from the hospital, he was transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged by Police Detective M. Kwarciany with first-degree murder. Ousmane Camara was ordered to be held without bond and faces a preliminary hearing on Feb. 22, 2019.
On Sept. 19, 2011, Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Paul H. Weinstein sentenced Ousmane Alhagy Camara to ten years in prison for armed robbery; suspended five years.
