VIRGINIA STATE POLICE BEAT: Stacy Paul Dyer drove stolen Rav wrong way on Rt. 17 struck tractor-trailer
GLOUSTER, VA. – According to the Virginia State Police, the driver of a Toyota who slammed into a truck on Rt. 17 is wanted in Tennessee and locked in Glouster County Jail.
Police say that the two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:10 a.m., on Route 17 at Adner Road, Gloucester County.
Investigations reveal that a 2018 Toyota Rav 4, driven by Stacey Paul Dyer, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 17.
Police say that Dyer struck a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer, that was traveling northbound on Route 17. The driver of the tractor-trailer attempted to swerve out of the path of the Toyota but was struck in the cab of the truck.
Stacey Dyer was wanted out of Tennessee and arrested for 8 charges stemming out of Tennessee. Dyer was also charged with obstruction of justice; giving false information, reckless driving, no valid operator’s license, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Dyer was taken to Gloucester County jail where he received no bond
