Norfolk police need help to identify two men involved in a fatal shooting

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police report that Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify two men involved in a fatal shooting that happened Saturday evening.     The man that was shot, was identified as Roosevelt A. McKinney, 33, of Norfolk, and was pronounced deceased. 

On April 2, 2022, around 6:25 p.m. police responded to MacArthur Mall located at 300 Monticello Avenue for a report of a gunshot disturbance. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man outside of the mall suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Police also found a woman outside of the mall suffering from a gunshot wound and another woman inside of the mall with a gunshot wound. Both women were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Surveillance footage from a retail store inside of the mall shows the suspect and a person of interest related to this homicide investigation.

Norfolk Police searching for wanted homicide suspect

NORFOLK, Va. – Detectives are asking for help locating the suspect who is wanted in connection with a homicide on Sewells Point Road.

While assisting another law enforcement agency, Norfolk Officers found the body of a man in a home in the 3000 block of Sewells Point Road around 3:35 p.m., on March 28, 2022. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The man was identified as Downing D. Mclean, 32, of Virginia Beach.

As a result of their investigation, Investigators have charged Cola W. Beale IV, 30, of Virginia Beach, with second-degree murder. Beale is currently wanted in connection with two homicides in the City of Virginia Beach and should be considered armed and dangerous.  

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Beale. 

Anyone with information about Beale’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or submit an anonymous tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
