LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – As gunfire rang out at Canopy Liquors on Great Mills Road, directly across the street from the new St. Mary’s Sheriff’s six million secure restroom facility, a man, still not identified by St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron, was shot dead. The first cops on the scene didn’t come from the Sheriff’s building but were Maryland State Troopers who answered the 911 call.

St. Mary’s County Commissioner John O’Connor failed to get an answer at 5:00 on a Friday in April at the front door of the Sheriff’s station in Lexington Park. THE CHESAPEAKE TODAY photo.

The Sheriff maintains a Lexington Park Cops unit which has a Twitter account claims to have 24 live tweeting of cop news. However, the screenshot below shows that the last time a living deputy added something to the Twitter feed was in 2019.
