MURDER USA: Virginia is for killers once again as Virginia State Police seek those who shot dead the driver of a BMW at the ramp from Rt. 17 to I-464; is latest in series of shootings on interstates near Norfolk area

On July 28, 2023, at approximately 9:50 AM, the Virginia State Police were notified of an interstate shooting that occurred on the entrance ramp to Interstate 464 north from Route 17 north.  A white BMW SUV was shot at several times by occupants of a white sedan.  The driver and only occupant of the white BMW, a 29-year-old male from Chesapeake, Va., sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

SHOOTING AT INTERSECTING INTERSTATES IN CRIME HAVEN OF CHESAPEAKE

On Friday, July 28, 2023, the Virginia State Police is investigating a shooting that occurred in the city of Chesapeake. 

At approximately 9:50 AM, Chesapeake PD responded to a shooting that occurred off of Veterans Bridge Road involving a single vehicle that had struck several other vehicles. At approximately 10:49 AM, state police acquired the incident and has agents from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation enroute to the location. The location is at the intersecting interstates of Rt. 17/64/464.

LAWLESS HIGHWAYS NEAR NORFOLK

Update from the Virginia State Police to the two incidents that occurred June 5, 2023, in the city of Hampton.

At this time, both incidents have been confirmed shootings that have occurred on the interstate. 

The shooting that occurred at 7:45 PM on Interstate 64/eastbound, west of Settlers Landing Road, involved a white 2015 Hyundai Sonata, in which a male victim was transported with life-threatening injuries. 

The second, and separate shooting occurred at approximately 10:08 PM on Interstate 664/southbound, north of Power Point Parkway. The male victim was driving a gray 2005 Toyota Camry and was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. The Virginia State Police is seeking the communities assistance in both interstate shootings. Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activities prior to or after the shootings or who may have witnessed the shootings while traveling on the interstate is asked to contact state police at (757)424-6800 or by email at questions@vsp.virginia.gov.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation for the Virginia State Police investigates an interstate shooting in the city of Newport News.

On May 25, 2023, at approximately 5:18 p.m., the Virginia State Police Communication Center received several calls of an interstate shooting that had occurred on Interstate 64 westbound in the vicinity of Jefferson Avenue in the city of Newport News. 

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a silver Ford Focus, which two adults and one child occupied, was shot at by the occupants of an unknown vehicle. The female passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the male front-seat passenger was not injured, and the child in the back seat suffered minor scrapes and cuts from broken glass. The other vehicle fled the scene.  The shooting appears to be an isolated incident.  State Police are seeking the community’s assistance in locating the other vehicle that was involved in the altercation.
