DWI HIT PARADE: Queen Anne’s County Sheriff reports Repeat DWI Driver Gregory Jensen charged with DUI; A Hair Lash Away from Being a Killer While Crossing Centerline

STEVENSVILLE, MD. – TOO MUCH FIREWATER – This motorist, who identifies as “Indian” as his race with the MVA, didn’t learn from his first time at bat for DUI, he apparently continues to drive while impaired and was caught again. Sheriff Gary Hofmann reports that on Feb. 1, 2019, Deputy Benjamin Williams responded to the Route 8 near Bay City Drive, Stevensville, Md., for a report of a possible driver under the influence. While in the area, Deputy Williams observed a vehicle crossing the centerline towards oncoming traffic.

Deputy Williams conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and identified him as Gregory Jensen, 55, of 213 Beachside Drive, Stevensville, Md. While speaking with Jensen, Deputy Williams detected an odor of alcohol coming from Jensen’s breath.

Jensen also had slurred speech and difficulty standing. Based on his investigation and his observations, Deputy Williams placed Jensen under arrest for driving under the influence. Jensen was later released to a sober party. Jensen will be showing up in Queen Anne’s County District Court on April 4, to explain to a Judge why he was crossing the centerline and endangering the lives of others.

Jensen was arrested for DWI by Maryland Transportation Authority Officer M. Walter on Oct. 26, 2015. In a plea deal in Queen Anne’s District Court on Feb. 1, 2016, Queen Anne’s County States Attorney Lance Richardson, Jensen entered a guilty plea to DWI. THE DEAL: In return for pleading guilty, Jensen was given a verdict of Probation Before Judgement and was given ZERO days in jail and a $500 fine. Richardson cut the fine in half to $250 in the deal arranged for Jensen by his attorney, David W. Fischer, of Glen Burnie, Md.

STEVENSVILLE, MD. – When the need to snooze arrives, it cannot be denied. Police say that on Jan. 25, 2019 at 11:54 am, Deputy First Class Alex Cooper responded to the 200 block of Baltimore Road, in Stevensville, Md., in reference to a suspicious vehicle. What was suspicious? It was in the middle of day and some character was passed out behind the wheel as the pickup was stopped with the motor running in the middle of the road.

Police say that DFC Cooper observed a white 2012 Ford F-250 in the roadway which was running with the driver sprawled unconscious in the driver’s seat. While attempting to wake the driver, identified as David Duley, 53, of 109 Birch Road, Stevensville, Md., DFC Cooper detected an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and conducted standardized field sobriety tests on Duley.

Based on the test results, Duley was placed under arrest and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.  Duley has a court date of March 28, 2019 in Queen Anne’s District Court and attorney William A. Stavros of Towson, Md., is listed on court records as his mouthpiece to somehow find a way to get him off of the DWI and six other traffic charges.

Pot and Booze Go Together Like a Horse and Carriage for Michael Bratcher; Warming Up for Drunk Pickup Driver Rodeo Olympics

CENTERVILLE, MD.  While in the area of Rt. 18, and Hibernia Road, in Centreville, Md., Queen Anne’s County Sheriff Deputy J. Bradley observed a red 2009 Chevy pick-up truck parked sideways in the middle of the roadway.

Police say that Deputy James Bradley conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Michael Aaron Bratcher, 54, of 140 Scottown Road, Queenstown, Md.

While speaking with Bratcher, police say that Deputy Bradley detected an odor of alcohol coming from Bratcher’s breath, a delicate aroma different from the garlic and spicy mustard which may have been left over from the previous day’s dinner.

A Strong Whiff of Weed

Deputy Bradley also detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Alcoholic beverages and marijuana were located in the vehicle. During his investigation, Deputy Bradley also learned that Bratcher’s license was revoked and suspended. Bratcher was issued a civil citation for the possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. Bratcher was also arrested and charged with:

  • Driving While Impaired by Alcohol
    • Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
    • Failure to stay right of center
    • Negligent driving
    • Driving on revoked license
    • Driving on suspended license
    • Failure to display a license
    • Driving without a license

Bratcher has a court date set for March 29, 2019 in Queen Anne’s District Court.

Bratcher hasn’t had much use for driver’s permits since losing his when he entered a guilty plea to DWI in Queen Anne’s District Court on Oct. 22, 2003. Bratcher was arrested by Queen Anne’s Sheriff Deputy Eric Goodman on June 26, 2001 as he operated a 1990 Chevy when stopped at the Kent Island Crown Gas Station on Thompson Creek Road. In a plea deal with the Queen Anne’s County States Attorney, no trial was needed. THE DEAL: Four months in jail and a fine of $350.00.

GRASONVILLE, MD. – Another possible entrant into the Drunk Pickup Driver Rodeo might be the guy from Delaware that Queen Anne’s Sheriff  Sergeant  Hampton observed operating a black 2014 Dodge Ram pickup barreling along Rt. 50 eastbound at Station Lane in Grasonville, Md., on Jan. 20, 2019 at 12:24 am.

Police say that Sgt. Hampton conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Christian Lee Dyche Keller, 46, of 397 Waterway Drive, Frederica, Delaware.

While speaking with Keller, Sgt. Sean Hampton reportedly detected an odor of alcohol coming from Keller’s breath and decided to conduct standardized field sobriety tests on Keller. Based on the test results, Keller was placed under arrest and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.  Keller is to appear on March 29, 2019, in Queen Anne’s District Court.
