HURLOCK, MD – According to the Dorchester County Sheriff, a Hurlock man did just about everything but murder his spouse.  He has had a lot of practice assaulting women in domestic violence cases but keeps coming closer to hitting the big time with a full-fledged murder rap.

Police say that on Sunday, June 23, 2019, deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office responded to 6245 Rossing Street, Hurlock, Md. for a reported domestic assault that had occurred.

Blake and his wife Gloria Scott were in a heated argument on June 22, 2019, when police say Blake pulled out a trusty shotgun to tilt the dispute in his direction.

A threat to kill Scott was made by Blake, say police.

Scott was talking with Blake’s mother when Blake came in the house with the shotgun and pointed it at Scott. Blake’s mother then pushed Blake away from Scott and the gun went off, police said, and threatened Scott’s two children as well.

BAD, BAD LEROY BROWN…

And it’s bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Now Leroy he a gambler
And he likes his fancy clothes
And he like to wave his diamond rings
In front of everybody’s nose
He got a custom Continental
He got an Eldorado too
He got a thirty-two gun in his pocket for fun
He got a razor in his shoe

And it’s bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong

Blake allegedly fired the gun in the front yard of the home and was arrested by Deputy K. Hastings and charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, False Imprisonment, Wearing and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with the Intent to Injure, First degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and 3 counts of Reckless Endangerment.

Blake was ordered held without bond and a domestic violence order was issued by a District Court Judge on June 23, 2019, who set a hearing on July 2, 2019 in Cambridge. In the meantime, Blake is ordered to stay away from Scott, her home, her kids, her work, her school and to surrender any firearms. The mouthpiece for Blake is a taxpayer provided free attorney.

Scott was treated and released from the Dorchester Hospital.

Blake is likely sitting in the hoosegow due to his inclination to ignore court orders such as when he entered a guilty plea to violating a protective order on July 11, 2018.

Blake missed a few years of domestic violence incidents when he joined the mass incarceration of drug dealers in the Maryland prison system after he entered a guilty plea on Sept. 24, 2009, to felony distribution of drugs in Dorchester County Circuit Court.  THE DEAL: Blake was sentenced to ten years in prison.
