Wesley Leonard Morris, of 38330 Hatchet Thicket Road, Avenue, Md., was charged by Maryland State Trooper Jason Mulhearn on Oct. 15, 2018, at 2:59 pm with negligent driving, driving without a permit and speeding. After requests from family members in a motion to the District Court, Morris failed to appear for trial on Jan. 16, 2019 and again on June 12, 2019, and his license was suspended.

Wesley Leonard Morris was arrested for DWI – drugs by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Kerns for a violation on Nov. 8, 2013.  Wesley Leonard Morris, 37, of Avenue, 11-8-13 (charged 9-10-14 after receiving blood test results) by Deputy Kerns.  St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz dropped the charge in District Court on Jan. 14, 2015.  

Morris has twice been found guilty of driving a vehicle without insurance and failing to stop after an unattended property damage accident, driving without a license and displaying tags from another vehicle.

Morris entered a guilty plea to the felony manufacture and distribution of drugs on March 31, 2008, in St. Mary’s Circuit Court in a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz. THE DEAL: Morris was sentenced to one year in jail.

Detectives from the St. Mary’s County BCI Vice Narcotics Division charged Wesley Leonard Morris, of Avenue, Maryland. Morris was charged with distribution of a controlled prescription medication (Hydrocodone).

Three times at bat for DWI for Llewellyn Adolphus Tibbs

Llewellyn Adolphus Tibbs, (DOB 05081961) of 3835 Baptist Church Road, Nanjemoy, Md., was charged again for DWI in Charles County, Md., on Sept. 2, 2019, at 6:14 pm by Maryland State Trooper Matthew Foster as he operated a 2002 HNDELI southbound on Rt. 224 north of Stump Neck Road.  Tibbs has a District Court trial in Charles County set for Nov. 7, 2019.  Tibbs will be represented by a free attorney provided by the hard-working taxpayers of Maryland, who Tibbs had put at risk by allegedly driving while impaired on a Maryland highway. Additional charges of driving without a permit, operating an unregistered vehicle, negligent driving, failing to have tags on a vehicle and other charges are pending as well.

Llewellyn Adolphus Tibbs was charged by Charles County Sheriff Patrol Officer M. Mellott with DWI on Nov. 18, 2011, as he operated a 1978 Ford on Baptist Church Road at Port Tobacco. Charles County States Attorney Tony Covington dropped the charge on Sept. 14, 2012.  Attorney Kurt Wolfgang of Leonardtown arranged the deal with Covington.

Llewellyn Adolphus Tibbs was arrested for DWI by Maryland State Trooper R. Lemerise on March 2, 2008, as he drove a 1978 Ford southbound on Smallwood Church Road. In a plea deal with the Charles County States Attorney on March 20, 2009, Tibbs entered a guilty plea. THE DEAL: Tibbs was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 30 days suspended and fined $100.00.

DWI ARRESTS FROM 2016 with selected UPDATES on outcomes in court with special recognition of REPEAT OFFENDERS

Francis Joseph Toth Jr., 59, (DOB 03/27/1957) of 17730 Clarke Road, Tall Timbers, Md., was arrested for DWI by St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Trevor Teague as he operated a 1975 Harley Davidson on Point Lookout Road at Chingville Road. In a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz in District Court for St. Mary’s County, Toth pleaded guilty. THE DEAL: Toth received a verdict of Probation Before Judgement on April 28, 2017. A jail sentence of 30 days was suspended and Toth was fined $200. A letter was entered into the record from the Seafarer’s School of Seamanship Addiction Rehab Center. Toth died on June 10, 2019.

Gwenetta Alexander Mitchell, 49, (DOB 11/10/1966)  of 35735 Chief Road, Mechanicsville, Md., was arrested for DWI St. Mary’s Sheriff Corporal Julie Yingling on July 21, 2016, as she operated a 2011 BMW on Rt. 234 at Rt. 236 in Budds Creek, Md.  On Oct. 7, 2016, in a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz, Mitchell entered a guilty plea. THE DEAL: A verdict of Probation Before Judgement with 20 days in jail and all of the jail time suspended and fined $192.50.

Jennifer Leah Doherty, 43, (DOB 04/17/1973) of 40767 Lake and Breton View Drive, Leonardtown, Md., was arrested for DWI on July 28, 2016, by Corporal Elizabeth O’Connor. In a plea deal between her attorney, Daniel Aaron Martin Slade with States Attorney Richard Fritz on Sept. 16, 2016, Doherty entered a guilty plea to DWI. THE DEAL: A verdict of Probation Before Judgement with a 30-day suspended sentence and a fine of $200.00.

Zachary Lane Gage Addair, 22, (DOB 12/04/1993) of 208 Glenn Street, Bluefield, Virginia, was arrested for DWI on July 31, 2016, by St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy J. Bare. Addair failed to appear in court for trial on Dec. 21, 2016 and an active warrant was issued for his arrest. Addair has yet to appear in court.
