BAD BOYS OF MARYLAND: Marquis D’Angelo Hagens Slammed Into Two Parked Police Cars At Scene Of An DWI Arrest; Earns DWI Rap When Fighting Cops; Domestic Violence Protection Order Dropped When Woman Fails To Appear

– An occasional update for record of the notorious

Anyone who manages to plow into two police cars while driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, fight the cops who were on the scene of the arrest of A DWI driver rates a follow up of what took place, along with a bit of research into other acts of notoriety.

The story of Marquis D’Angelo Hagens is one of enriching attorneys paid by the taxpayers to represent a career offender, multiple trips to have his DNA tested for almost annual awards of Rooster Daddy of the Year, and a docket full of judges, clerks, and court reporters.

Charles County Sheriff Rex Coffey reported about this event that took place on Feb. 22, 2014, at 1:41 a.m., when Cpl. S. Potter initiated a traffic stop at Smallwood Drive and St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf, Maryland after observing a suspected drunk driver.

The driver, Erick Wayne Carter, 40, of Waldorf, was detained and placed in Cpl. Potter’s patrol car. Officer A. Duckett assisted and was in her patrol car parked directly behind Cpl. Potter. Suddenly, a vehicle crashed into Officer Duckett’s car and then struck Cpl. Potter’s vehicle before hitting Carter’s car. The striking vehicle continued forward and stopped in a ditch.

Officers approached the car and detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver, Marquis D ‘Angelo Hagens.

Police say that the officers tried to arrest Hagens, but he became combative and resisted. He was quickly subdued. Cpl. Potter, Officer Duckett, and the suspects, Hagens and Carter, were transported to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in Hagens’ car refused medical treatment. Hagens, 24, of Waldorf, was charged with driving under the influence, driving while suspended, failure to drive right of center, and other traffic offenses. Carter was later charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence and other traffic violations. Both of the officers’ cars were disabled.

The charges against Hagens wound their way through the Alice In Wonderland Judicial System in Charles County with criminal indictments sought by States Attorney Anthony Covington from the Grand Jury.

The Charles County States Attorney charged Hagens with:

  • second-degree assault
  • attempting to elude a uniformed police officer
  • driving while under the influence of alcohol
  • failing to provide a registration card
  • driving without a permit
  • driving too fast
  • failing to drive right of center
  • reckless driving
  • negligent driving

In Charles County Circuit Court with Circuit Court Judge Hayward James West presiding on May 16, 2017, Hagens pleaded guilty to attempting to flee from an officer on foot and to DWI and picked up a prison sentence of seven years, all but for sixteen months of which was suspended as part of a plea deal with States Attorney Anthony Covington.

The terms of probation for five years triggered a new court hearing on August 14, 2020, with a half dozen more hearings set and postponed, which could activate sending Hagens to the slammer again with the hearing postponed on February 1, 2022.

A new hearing for violation of probation is set for May 19, 2022, when Bad Boy Hagens may be given a ticket back to the slammer once more.

Hagens has a fleet of attorneys, including Brendan Callahan, Arthur Reynolds Jr, Gabrielle Green and Robert Castro, all of whom have filed appearances for him between 2017 and 2021, making him a most popular client that is having his attorney’s fees paid by the hapless taxpayers of Maryland.

Hagens was cited by St. Mary’s Deputy Jason Smith on November 30, 2020, with driving without a permit, revoked, speeding and all around failure to do good, as he operated a 2020 Hyundai on Great Mills Road on Hillbilly Hill, otherwise known as the former home of Aldridge Ford.  A trial date for this charge is set for June 9, 2022.  An earlier date must not have made it on Hagens calendar on his Apple Watch as he failed to appear in St. Mary’s District Court on June 11, 2021.

Hagens, with an address on Primrose Willow Lane in Lexington Park, Maryland, was given a plea deal by St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz in District Court on a charge of driving without a permit on November 18, 2020. In return for pleading guilty, he was given ten days in the Hotel St. Mary’s with all of the jail time suspended. The fine of $207.50 was deferred but court records show that as of May 26, 2021, it was unpaid.

DOUBLE DUTY AS DADDY

The Circuit Court for Charles County ordered on December 5, 2019, that a successful DNA test established that one Rooster Marquis D’Angelo Hagens was the daddy of a child, and he now is ordered to pay child support sought by Kymberli Savoy.  The Court made a similar finding on October 24, 2013, involving Nicole Dent of Brandywine and awarding her support for a child fathered by Hagens.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WAS ALLEGED AND THEN DROPPED

Marquis D’Angelo Hagens, (DOB 8/2/1989) of 10385 Chamberlin Court, Waldorf, Maryland, was ordered by District Court Judge Kenneth Talley in Charles County to clear out, stay clear, and not to darken the doorstep of home or work of Aryana Martin in Charles County in an order filed on February 6, 2022.

On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2022, Martin apparently had a change of heart about wanting to see Hagens under a permanent court order and failed to appear in court resulting in the temporary protective order being dismissed by District Court Judge Andrea Watkins.

Many times, a woman will be threatened or intimidated into not appearing for a final order hearing.

While Hagens has over four thousand friends on Facebook, Kymberli or Nicole are not among them.  Ironically, neither is Aryana Martin, however, Hagens displays the photos of himself with several children in cute poses.
