BARBER SHOP SHOOTINGS: Gunmen find shootings at Barber Shops a cheap way to even feuds and score revenge

GUNFIRE GHETTO MOVING NORTH ON RT. 235: Unknown gunmen shot up black barbershop and Dollar Tree; cops scramble; California Post Office closed as a crowd gathered to watch investigators

The shooting at the San Souci / Patuxent Crossing shopping center located two miles north of the Naval Air Warfare Center on Rt. 235 in California, Maryland, centered on a black barbershop that opened early in 2022. The barbershop frequently has men sitting in chairs outside the front door during the daytime, and cars have been observed driving up to the barbershop’s front door with the men in the chairs conducting hand-to-hand transactions with occupants of the cars – an action often associated with drug dealing.

MURDER USA: Javon Jones went to Uplift Barber Shop for a haircut and shave; a deadly volley of Mafia-style gunfire was no charge

BURTONSVILLE, Md. (7News) — Security cameras captured the terror of the shopping center shootout that showed a man in red shorts shooting an innocent victim on Sunday, July 10 in Montgomery County. As the victim falls to the ground, one of the shooters runs by, holding a gun in his right hand.

“Literally 60 rounds were fired in that parking lot,” Chief Marcus Jones of Montgomery County Police said of the shooting in the 13800 block of Outlet Drive in Burtonsville, Maryland.

Jones reacted on Monday, July 11, with disgust and anger, revealing the number of shootings in the county this year, doubling last year’s count.

“These are the individuals that are willing to just fire carelessly at other subjects but not knowing where their rounds are gonna go,” Jones said.

In this case, the shots shattered the storefronts of several businesses.

A witness said the place was crowded when the shooting started and people ran to seek shelter.

According to sources, the shooting followed an argument among young men gathered at a barbershop in the shopping center.

Witnesses report that some people recorded the gun battle on their phones rather than call 911. State’s Attorney John McCarthy said that behavior enables lawlessness.

“Despite the number of rounds fired, there’s absolutely no calls from anybody in the community for cooperation with us in law enforcement,” McCarthy said.

MoCo police confirm the victim had an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. The gunfire hit several businesses and vehicles parked at the strip mall. The suspect/s remains at large. 3D had to call on neighboring police districts for extra patrol officers, sources tell me. – Kevin Lewis of WJLA.
