Rehoboth Police Found Body of Missing Timothy Toner off Delaware Seashore Park

 

REHOBOTH, DEL. — The Coast Guard ended its search for a man who went missing off Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Monday after the man’s body was found by Rehoboth Police.

The Coast Guard launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Air Station Atlantic City, a 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Station Indian River, and the Coast Guard Cutter Rollin Fritch. They worked alongside state and local agencies who assisted in searching approximately 60 square miles of land and water.

 

Rehoboth Beach Police announced that they have located the body of Timothy S. Toner, 43, of Lewes, Del. who was reported missing early on Aug. 20, 2018.

 

Toner was reported missing by a friend just after 1:30 am when she witnessed him enter the ocean in the area of Rehoboth Avenue and not return after being gone for approximately 20 minutes.  Multiple agencies responded to assist in the land, air, and water search, but all were unsuccessful in locating Toner.

 

 

On Monday morning just after 11:00 am, Toner’s body was spotted in the surf along the beach in the Delaware Seashore State Park just south of Dewey Beach in the area of Tower Road.  A forensic investigator from the Division of Forensic Science responded to the scene and the body was removed.  A death investigation is being conducted by the Rehoboth Beach Police with the assistance of the Division of Forensic Science and the Delaware State Police.

 

Police say that at this time no foul play is suspected.
