MURDER USA: Rahzell Washington, Quataisia Thompson, and Sarah Bowen arrested in connection to the homicide of teenager at Norfolk Navy Housing Center
NORFOLK, VA – Norfolk Police report that Norfolk detectives have apprehended three people in connection with the homicide of a 17-year-old that took place on Feb. 21, 2020, around 5:15 pm.
Police say that officers were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Moreell Circle in the Ben Moreell Lincoln Military Housing community near Naval Station Norfolk for a report of a gunshot victim.
When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old male with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The teenager was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
At this time in the investigation, the following individuals have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and use of a firearm.
- Rahzel C. Washington, 20, of the 900 block of E. Charlotte Street in Norfolk.
Washington was found guilty of failing to appear for trial in Norfolk District Court on March 13, 2019. Washington was fined $50 and picked up a 30-day suspended sentence for disorderly conduct; on July 18, 2019, he was fined $100 for failing to provide an ID.
- Quataisia Renae Thompson, 22, of the 1300 block of Lead Street in Norfolk.
- Sarah Jessica Bowen, 24, of the 1500 block of Campbell Avenue in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Washington, Thompson, and Bowen are being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
