Commissioner John O’Connor said staff designed plans for a new Sheriff’s Headquarters that will cost $26 million without any consideration of the ability of the taxpayers to afford it and the Board of Commissioners never appointed a citizens committee to review or determine if this dream of bureaucrats was needed. O’Connor said the public should sound off at the budget hearings.
