ELECTION 2022 Sheriff Tim Cameron sat out Golden Beach parade instead of marching in support of his anointed successor after criminal record of Steve Hall was revealed

GOLDEN BEACH, MD – Just hours after the publication of the news story of the criminal background of St. Mary’s Sheriff’s candidate Steve Hall, Sheriff Cameron arrived at the parade staging area. Instead of joining Captain Steve Hall in the candidate’s entourage of several trucks, banners, and marching supporters with a fifteen-foot banner, Sheriff Cameron, who was in uniform and operating a marked Sheriff SUV, opted to remain in his vehicle.

The parade kicked off about noon in Golden Beach for the Fourth of July with a long procession of residents driving an endless assortment of floats operated by people of all ages in all manner of vehicles, including golf carts, tractors, and land boats.

Sheriff Tim Cameron has endorsed Steve Hall in the July 19th GOP primary. Since he is allowed to participate in political events in his sheriff uniform, he wasn’t part of any security detail, as uniformed deputies were present to keep the peace as kids scrambled for candy thrown from floats; Cameron could have marched with Hall if he had chosen.

THE FOLLOWING EMAIL WAS SENT TO SHERIFF TIM CAMERON BEFORE THE PARADE

“I have been a witness to Steve’s life. I have been a witness to Steve’s career.”

Steve began his career as a Correctional Officer in 1994…he’s been promoted through the ranks, attaining the rank of Captain in 2010.

He’s commanded the Patrol Division and most recently the Special Operations Division, where he enjoys the challenges of one of the most diverse and demanding divisions within the Sheriff’s Office.
Captain Hall was nominated and attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico. He recently completed the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management in Policing…he’s completed the Maryland Police Training Commission Leadership Challenge and received the session’s Outstanding Leader Award.

Captain Hall attended the Leadership Southern Maryland class in 2018 and continues to volunteer to further that program along.

He received his undergraduate degree from Western Colorado University and holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University.

He’s got a lot of formal education, but he also has a lot of common sense from the College of Hard Knocks.

Those hard knocks come from working the street, being a detective, working in narcotics, being in every level of command and management at every level of the agency…including preparation of budgets, writing grants…(Steve is) a guy with a great degree of empathy and love for this community, as well as fostering great morale within our agency because he deeply cares about the people that care for you.

I heartily endorse and support Steve Hall as a Candidate for Sheriff.
