COPS: TEACHER WANTED NASTY PICS FROM A GIRL, NOT AN APPLE

UPPER MARLBORO, MD.  As the school year ends, yet another Maryland educator faces charges of solicitation of a child in a school.  Prince George’s County Police report that a teacher at James Madison Middle School in Upper Marlboro is charged with solicitation of a minor. The suspect is 33-year-old Jose Zuniga-Orellana (DOB 8/19/1989) of 1601 Airport Lane, Accokeek, Maryland.

 He’s charged with soliciting inappropriate photos from a female student at the school. 

On June 13, 2023, the victim advised detectives that the suspect recently made inappropriate comments to her and requested inappropriate photographs of the student. The student did not comply with that request.

Prince Georges County Police reported that Zuniga-Orellana has been taken into custody and ordered by District Court Commissioner Sharon Redmon to be held without bond initially.  A preliminary hearing in District Court in Upper Marlboro is set for July 13, 2023, for the felony charge of child porn solicitation. A bail bond review is set for June 15, 2023, before District Court Judge Bryon Seth Bereano, which may provide for the release of the accused.

 A review of Maryland Court records shows that there are no criminal charges filed against him prior to this incident.

At this time, PG Police said that detectives have not discovered any additional victims at the school but urge anyone with information relevant to this case to call 301-772-4930.

ADULT STUDENT CAUGHT WITH LOADED GUN AT ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL IN BOWIE

BOWIE, MD. -The Prince George’s County Police Department reports that it is investigating after a student at Non-Traditional Program North school in unincorporated Bowie brought a loaded gun onto school property on June 9, 2023. The 18-year-old suspect is Onterrio Wilkinson of Hyattsville. 

Prince George’s Police reported that, at approximately 12:30 pm, the PGPD was notified that Prince George’s County Schools security personnel recovered the gun from the male student’s waistband.

Onterrio Antonio Wilkinson (DOB 04/20/2005) of 3013 75th Ave., Apt. 302, was charged with bringing a gun to school in Bowie on June 9, 2023, by Prince Georges County Police Officer Randall with reckless endangerment, having a loaded handgun on his person, concealed deadly weapon, possession of a gun by a minor, possession of a gun on school property and possession of ammunition. Onterrio Antonio Wilkinson ordered Wilkinson to be held in the PG County Jail without bond pending a preliminary hearing on July 12, 2023, in District Court.

Program Description

The Non-Traditional Program for grades 9-12 North is a program designed to provide instruction for students in need of an alternative educational setting in grades 9-12. The program affords students the opportunity to earn the grades and/or credits needed to advance to their correct grade level. There is a focus on student engagement, academic interventions and goal development. The programmatic concepts of Individual Learning Plans, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), monitored attendance, mandatory school uniforms and small interactive classes are designed for positive student skill development. The program requires parents to attend quarterly parent meetings/workshops.
